Instructor Bios

Wendy Konzelmann

Wendy teaches  Beginner Belly Dance and mixed-level Belly Blenders.

She discovered belly dance in 2007 and since then it has grown from a once-a-week hobby to a full-time obsession. She is on a mission to spread the joy and confidence belly dance imparts to other women (and men) who don't think they are dancers.


She has studied American Tribal Style since 2008 and has also trained in American Cabaret and Tribal Fusion. She has studied under instructors including Denise Bradford, Jeannie Murdock, and Kalima of Kalima Tribal.  She has also participated in workshops and intensives with The Rising Sun Tribe, Zoe Jakes, Mavi, Urban Gypsy, Annie of Ancient Moon, Megha Gavin, Jenny Lawrence, Mardi Love, Rachel Brice, Jennifer Nolan, Kaeshi Chai, Suhaila Salimpour, Wendy Allen, Kae Montgomery, Sandi Ball, Liz Malcolm, Carolena Nericchio, Naima Sultana, Angie Never, Lacey Sanchez, Deanna Padron and Mahsati Janan.
She has also trained in sword performance under Anna Maria Cancelli, Mavi, and Amara Al Amir.


Wendy earned her American Tribal Style General Skills Certification in June 2012.


She is currently co-owner and co-director of Queens of D'Nile Studio and Queens of D'Nile Court, and is co-producer/creator of We Will Raq You and Raqs Synister.

Lori Weaver

Lori teaches American Tribal Style Belly Dance Levels 1, 2, & 3.

Lori began studying belly dance seven years ago and quickly realized she had a great passion for the art.  In 2008, she discovered American Tribal Style and felt an instant kinship.  She began performing regularly in 2009 with a newly-formed group named Damhsa Gasra Tribal Belly Dance. 

 

Lori is currently Co-Director/ Owner of Queens of D’Nile Belly Dance Studio in Concord, NC as well as co-director of Queens of D'Nile Belly Dance Collective, with her dance sisters, Wendy Konzelmann and Destiny Behringer.  Acquiring her ATS General Skills Certification had been a long-term goal for Lori in her advancement as a performer and instructor. She accomplished that goal in June 2012 when she completed her General Skills Certification with Carolena Nericcio and Megha Gavin in Atlanta, GA.

She has trained in other belly dance styles including American Cabaret, Tribal Fusion and other forms of Improvisational Tribal Belly Dance. 

 

She has studied under several instructors including Denise Bradford, Jeannie Murdock, and Kalima of Kalima Tribal. She has also attended many workshops with other great instructors including Rick and Reyna of The Rising Sun Tribe, Annie Goodson of Ancient Moon, Naima Sultana, Jenny Lawrence of En-Trance Belly Dance, Natalie Brown, Urban Gypsy, Megha Gavin, Mardi Love, Zoe Jakes, Rachel Brice, Jennifer Nolan and Suhaila Salimpour.
